As former Federal Prosecutors, Mr. Randall Baran and Mr. Marcel Buchler, the Senior Partners and Founding Members, have a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the criminal justice system and defences best suited for your particular case and needs.

Randall Baran

Mr. Randall Baran, B.A., B.Ed., LL.B.

Mr. Randall Baran attended at McGill University in Montreal where he graduated with a degree majoring in Economics and Political Science. He then attended at the Faculty of Education, University of Windsor, where he obtained a teaching degree. Following teaching, he attended at the Faculty of Law, University of Windsor, where he graduated with a law degree and was awarded the Judge Bruce J.S. MacDonald Award in Criminal Trial Advocacy. Mr. Baran articled with the Toronto Bay Street law firm of McMillan Binch (now McMillan LLP). Mr. Baran has lectured in the area of criminal law at local schools and at George Brown College.  He has practised exclusively in the area of criminal law in Ontario for over 30 years, having appeared before all levels of court and was a former Federal Prosecutor with the Department of Justice and the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC).

Marcel Buchler

Mr. Marcel Buchler, B.A., LL.B.​

Mr. Marcel Buchler attended at McGill University in Montreal where he graduated in 1986 with Distinction in Political Science. He then attended at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, where he graduated in 1990 with a law degree. After completing articling and his Bar exams, he was called to the Bar in February of 1993. Mr. Buchler has practised exclusively in the area of criminal law in Ontario for over 30 years, and worked as a former Federal Prosecutor with the Department of Justice and the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC). Mr. Buchler has lectured at George Brown College in the area of criminal law.

Legal Fees

Our legal fees are based upon a wide variety of factors, including the complexity of the case and personal financial circumstances.  Our view is that everyone has the right to an affordable, vigorous and effective legal defence and that access to justice should be the paramount consideration for anyone charged with a criminal offence.  Accordingly, we accept payment plans and instalments, depending on one’s ability to pay.

 

It is our view that legal fees should not be onerous, and that block payments which encompass a specific bundle of legal services are a way which protects clients from excessive legal fees.
